Gimli Grand opening 1st of July 2016

Yes, we really are opening in Gimli! We know it’s hard to believe, given our on again, of again stories over the last few months. We feel we owe you all a bit of an explanation. For those wondering: Wendy had a sudden, upsetting health diagnosis in early March that had us putting all our plans on pause. Actually, we thought we needed to call them o completely. We reluctantly, and sadly let people know that we would be unable to open the new location for the time being, as Wendy was expecting to need surgery in the very near future. However, life has a way of keeping you on your toes. After a new consultation a few weeks ago, we got the go ahead to proceed with our plans. Sooooo: here we are!!! First of all: a message to our wonderful Swan River customers: While we are bound to have some growing pains over the next few months, please trust that we will be replenishing our Swan River inventory in time for chilly weather and fall classes! Enjoy your lake and garden time, and know we are a email or phone call away! The Swan River shop will be open its usual summer hours to keep you in rainy day supplies! We are very excited to be expanding our business to Gimli and area! We plan to provide you with lots of opportunities for creative expression and education in our little shop. We look forward to meeting the many experienced, inspiring sewists and quilters in the area; please share with us what you would like to see waiting for you in store. We also can’t wait to meet those of you who have been wanting to learn how to sew and create with fabric, but haven’t had the opportunity yet. Our message to the Pinterest and IG junkies: You can DO this!!! Most of all, we are looking forward to sharing our love of color, creativity and craftiness! We want to have everyone believing: Happiness is Handmade! Cheers, George and Wendy

Baby, it’s cold outside!!!

Baby, it’s cold outside!!!

We are in the midst of a cold snap here in Swan that might be better described as
a “cold slap”! I’m wrapped in a quilt, cosy and warm by my fireplace as I write this
letter to you all. The months leading up to Christmas were a frenzy at the shop,
full of events and classes. So many of you worked so hard creating beautiful gifts
for your loved ones this fall. I’m certain that on Christmas morning there were
many friends and family members oohing and aweing over the incredible creations
gifted so generously to them.
Now that the season of giving to others has come to a close, I want to suggest it’s
time to give yourself a gift! This winter might be the perfect time to finally start
that quilt for your own bed! How about learning a new sewing skill that you
have been wanting to attempt, but just haven’t found the time or courage? Maybe
viewing the upcoming Art Quilt Exhibition will inspire you to look at quilting in
a whole new light. I have tried to fill these next few months with opportunities for
you all to be creative, gain some new skills and be inspired in the classroom by all
the incredible projects others are working on.
So pour yourself a cup of something warm and comforting, and have a read
through of all the exciting happenings come up here at Fabriculous over the next
few months! We can’t wait to see you!
Cheers! Wendy
